Biography
Britt Bair is an award-winning abstract expressionist painter, mostly working in acrylic and mixed media, whose work explores the interplay of color, light, and movement. Over the past 25 years, she has exhibited in solo and group shows across New York City, New England, Florida, and Colorado. Her paintings are part of private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. to Europe.
Her work has been featured in This Old House on PBS, as well as in publications including Canvas Rebel, Vero Beach Magazine, Liv Vero, At Home, New Canaan - Darien - Rowayton Magazine, and Venü. She has also been profiled in The Darien Times, The New Canaan Advertiser, 32963 Vero Beach, Westerly Sun, and other regional press outlets.
Exhibitions & Recognition
Bair’s solo exhibitions include In the Meantime (Brendan’s 101, Rowayton, CT, 2025), Color Me Happy (Avondale Arts, Watch Hill, RI, 2023), and Moments in Time (Townley Gallery, Tribeca, NYC, 2019–20). She has been selected for notable juried shows such as New Vision at Cavalier Gallery, NYC (2025), Spectrum “Visions”, New Canaan, CT (2020), and the Faber Birren National Color Show (2023). Earlier awards include First Place in the Rowayton Arts Center Plein Air Show and multiple awards at the Darien Art Center Annual Juried Shows.
Education & Training
Bair studied Liberal Arts at Colby-Sawyer College (1979) and earned her B.A. in Studio Art and Photography from the University of California, Riverside (1981). She continued advanced study with artists including Pamela Dulong Williams, Constance Kiermaier, Chris Shore, Helen Cantrell,Vicky Marsango, and Theresa Girard. She has also been awarded several residencies at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna, FL. 
Professional Affiliations
She is an exhibiting member of the Silvermine Artist Guild, the Rowayton Arts Center, New Canaan Society for the Arts, Darien Art Center, F.O.C.A. (Friends of Contemporary Art), and the Vero Beach Museum of Art. She is the co-founder of the Wilson Avenue Loft Artists in South Norwalk, CT, and former co-president of the Fairfield County Plein Air Painters.

Teaching & Community Work
Alongside her studio practice, Bair is committed to sharing her passion for painting. She teaches private classes and workshops for adults, including programs at the Darien Library and Darien Nature Center, and has served as a juror for the Rowayton Arts Center’s Exhibiting Member Selection Committee since 2010.

Britt is passionate about giving back and donates artwork to various charities each year. In addition, 25% of the profits from every large piece sold are donated to charitable causes.
